Lucy Lawless, star of Xena, accuses Kevin Sorbo of Controversial Content Simpson, O.J. Remark!
Renowned actor Kevin Sorbo, who starred in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, and actress Lucy Lawless, who is best known for her role as Warrior Princess, are at odds. Vice President Kamala Harris was in controversy after Sorbo tweeted that she should “say the N-word” to prove her Black identity.
Lawless and Sorbo have been at odds over their divergent political views since they worked together on their separate series in the 1990s. Sorbo is an outspoken conservative and a supporter of former President Donald Trump.
Lawless responded to Sorbo’s comments on Harris by saying, “in his defense,” that she had seen Sorbo stand up for at least one person of color, namely O.J. Simpson.
Lawless tweeted on August 10, 2024: “My character, #Xena, was first introduced in my husband’s show, ‘Hercules the Legendary Journeys,’ during the summer of 1995 in New Zealand.” I brought up a news story while the actors and I were chatting. “Guys, did you hear about that woman and her friend who were brutally murdered in Los Angeles?” I asked the group. Perhaps the football player was responsible! “Hey!” growled Peanut [Sorbo]. Nicole wasn’t exactly a picnic, as I personally know her! VOOM.
She went on, remembering the surprise in the group, “I said, ‘She didn’t deserve to be stabbed to death.'” “I’m just saying, she was a piece of work,” he shot back. Those Americanisms were peculiar to us, therefore it stayed in my memory. However, we understood his meaning. #Don’tStartMe!
Lawless reiterated her opinion that Nicole Brown Simpson “didn’t deserve to be stabbed to death,” emphasizing that they were all shocked by Sorbo’s remark. She also noted Sorbo’s contentious reply.
